Zach visits the world’s largest Grand Seiko boutique

It would be fair to assume Grand Seiko’s largest boutique is in Japan, residing within the famed Wako building in Ginza. But you would be wrong. In fact, the largest Grand Seiko boutique in the world can be found in the heart of New York City. When the new flagship opened, I attended the first-ever GS9 Club USA event within the space – and as you can imagine, a lot of Grand Seiko watches were present, not only on display in the store but also on the wrists of attendees.

Now, you’d expect a lot of people attending a Grand Seiko event would be wearing a watch from the brand. But, as a GS9 Club event, it is actually (in some respects) the cost of entry. What is the GS9 Club? The GS9 Club is an exclusive Grand Seiko community that purchasers of a Grand Seiko can become a part of. For the GS9 Club USA in particular, if you purchase a Grand Seiko from a boutique or authorised dealer within the USA you are then eligible to be a member of the GS9 Club which offers access to regular private events and exclusive content on the GS9 website.

Grand Seiko Madison Avenue flagship store address and operating hours

The Grand Seiko Madison Avenue flagship store is located at 540 Madison Avenue in New York City and it is open from Monday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
